Questions and Answers

1.  What We Do

"Food for the Disadvantaged" Organization" ("Ochel Lenizkakim" - in Hebrew) collects and buy food and cleaning materials from food distribution centers and food donors. Our volunteers supply the food and cleaning materials to the needy families' homes.

2.   Who Receive Our Help?

"Food for the Disadvantaged" Organization is in direct contact with the welfare departments of the relative municipalities which give us the names and addresses of our clients. We also help people who call us directly, people referred to us by the government emergency call center 118, hospital social workers, drug rehabilitation centers, and many more.

2.   Who We Are?

"Food for the Disadvantaged" Organization was established in 2003 by Joshua Pelzman, an architect, who is a partner in the architectural office of Pelzman-Rozenfeld Architects.

Soon after, he was joined by other professionals and friends who wanted to help.

As the food insecurity in the state of Israel grows, we found it proper to focus our help in this area by delivering food to the elders', single mothers, new immigrants and many more.

Every year especially in recent years the government of Israel is doing less and less for its poor and its disadvantaged people. The government leaves these enormous tasks to the private sector and the local communities. Without organizations like "Food for the Disadvantaged" there will be many who end their day literally in total hunger.

"Food for the Disadvantaged"- is a non-governmental, a-political, and non-partisan organization.

3. Donations:

The donations are tax deductible according to section 46 in Israel, and are tax deductible in the USA - via our agent PEF Israel Endowment Funds, New York, NY
